The Inclusive Education Department at St Patrick's College works in collaboration with classroom teachers develop an inclusive curriculum for students from Years 5 to 12 which caters for all of our diverse range of learners. 

St Patrick's College has adopted a philosophy and inclusive approach to learning that assists students to meet the challenges of the curriculum through the development of a variety of programs or modifications.

The Department endeavors to recognise, honour and nurture the uniqueness and talents of each student by:

• Encouraging the development of the highest personal and group standards.
• Being concerned with the growth of the whole person such that he develops to his full potential as a young Christian gentleman who is able to take his place in the world.

Desired Outcomes for Students

• Individual potential reached in literacy and numeracy.
• Development of self-esteem, enabling students to feel successful and worthwhile.
• Living skills, which are practically based and practised outside of the classroom so that students are able to participate in school and social activities.
• Work experience and community based learning.
• Other educational experiences which are commensurate with students' abilities.

Education Adjustment Program (EAP)

This process is a reliable and formal way of identifying students with disabilities who may require special educational support. The primary purpose of an EAP is to recommend the level of specialist support required by those students identified with disabilities. The process assists in forward planning and the provision of quality programs for students. During a student's EAP, selected staff will be required to be a part of the data gathering process, which is necessary to validate each student's specific needs.

Gifted and Talented Students

St Patrick's College's vision for students who are gifted is that they feel valued in a learning environment, which both challenges and supports them to pursue excellence and develop a passion for lifelong learning. The College strive to maximise the potential of our gifted and talented students by quality differentiation in the classroom, extension and enrichment opportunities where appropriate, participation in a targeted Honours program which commences in Year 5, involvement with external completions and in some exceptional circumstances, acceleration of students into the next year level.
